Bound
residues form in soil by persistent organics pollutants
Abstract:
Organic pollutants incorporated into a terrestrial environment
may be a subject of several processes
including volatilization, leaching, sorption, photodegradation and biodegradation.
Besides the
aforementioned processes, some of the pollution becomes
strongly bound with its components making
it difficult to determine with the generally used analytic
methods. Contaminants appearing in this last
form are called bound-residues (BD) or non-extractable residues.
Bound residue characteristics are given and factors influencing
its formation are presented in this work.
1. Introduction.
2. Formation of bound residue. 3. Effect of organic
matter on bound residue. 4. Change of
bound residue content during period. 5. Persistence of bound
residue. 6. Conclusion |
